Window Tint Film FAQs - Arcane Detailing 419 Has The Answers!

  • Are window tint films only for certain vehicles?

No matter what you drive, we can tint the windows for you. There was a time when window tinting seemed to be exclusively for sports cars or exotic vehicles; however, more and more we are seeing trucks, sedans, minivans, and crossover SUVs come into our Ashland, Ohio window tinting studio for a quality, professional install.

  • Is there a specific maintenance routine I must perform on my window tint films?

Generally, no. We do encourage you to always bring your vehicle to us for a monthly vehicle detailing package to keep both your interior and exterior surfaces free of damaging contaminants; however, simple and delicate hand washing will do the trick. Keep in mind that window tint films are applied to the inside of your windows, so they will not be exposed to the same elements and extreme weather conditions as your vehicle's exterior.

  • What is the most common protective characteristic of window tint films?

Primarily, your window tint films are designed to repel harmful ultraviolet rays that are given off by the sun, especially during summer and around midday on any given day. This not only protects interior surfaces from damage, primarily those that are made from vinyl, plastic, or leather, but window tinting keeps your skin protected from those same UV rays.

  • Will having window tint films installed improve my vehicle’s value?

Your vehicle’s value increases thanks to the protective nature window tint films provide your interior, along with the increased privacy that shields those same areas from passersby. Style improvements as a result of window tint films are also notable, with the aesthetic value often measured in your pride.

  • What is the difference between ceramic window tint films and standard window tint films?

Ceramic window tint films offer a number of advantages over regular window tinting films due to their advanced ceramic technology. Compared to regular window tint films which often contain dyes or metals, ceramic window tint films are highly effective at blocking heat and harmful UV rays. Additionally, ceramic window tint films are less prone to fading or discoloration over time, making them a more long-lasting and effective option for those looking for a superior window tinting solution.

Ohio State Laws Regarding Window Tint Films

Here in Ashland, Ohio and the surrounding communities, there are specific regulations that impact the type of window tint films we at Arcane Detailing 419 can install. The characteristics of window tint films that must follow state laws are traditionally the reflection given off by the window tint films and the amount of light that must be let in.

Being an exclusive window tint film installation team, we follow these laws and regulations strictly to ensure that our customers only receive the best and most safe products on the market. For your benefit as our customer, here is a comprehensive breakdown of Ohio’s window tint laws:

What is the law in Ohio for Window Tinting?

For Sedans, window tint darkness must allow at least 50% of light in on the front windows, while the back windows can be as dark as you please. This includes the back windshield as well. Window tint reflectiveness for Sedans is not allowed in the state of Ohio.

For SUVs and minivans, the same rules apply in terms of window tint darkness, in that front windows must allow at least 50% of light in, while the back windows and back windshield can be as dark as you please. Again, window tint film reflectiveness is not permitted on any automobile.

Prior to your window tint film installation, consider exploring our state’s DOT website for further information regarding those regulations. This will help you get a better understanding of why we install specific films on your ride for each of our window tinting packages here at Arcane Detailing 419.
